Wyandotte County saw 301layoffs occur during October and November 2009. Despite the decline inemployment, the
average monthlyunemployment rate fell from 10.3% during the third quarter to 9.3% in the firsttwo months of the forth
quarter. Rising job losses are hurting demand,but historically low mortgage rates are improving affordability.
